Dr. Terry Beebe has been the owner and lead veterinarian at Family Pet Hospital, LLC since January, 2006. He grew up locally on a dairy farm near Scales Mound, IL. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he and his wife, Jolene operated the family dairy farm with his parents for 12 years. The dream of being a veterinarian lured Terry away from the family farm. He attended classes at UW-Platteville for 2 years prior to going to veterinary school.
Dr. Beebe received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2000. Dr. Beebe and Jolene have 3 children, Tanner, Jared, & Taylor. They raise English Shepherds and their two dogs are “Tessa NOON” and "Storm”.
Dr. Beebe especially enjoys Preventative Medicine, Surgery, and Orthopedics. Dr. Beebe has taken significant continuing education classes to further his veterinary skills, especially in orthopedics and is one of the few veterinarians in the immediate are willing and able to perform most orthopedic surgeries. He delights in getting to know patients and clients as well as helping future veterinarians gain insight and experience in the profession.
Dr. Mackenzie Hellert earned her DVM from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Dubuque, Iowa and and earned her undergraduate degree from UW-Platteville. Dr. Hellert is the primary veterinarian at Family Pet Hospital. Although Dr. Hellert enjoys all avenues of veterinary medicine some of her specific interests include internal medicine, family practice, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Sprank lives in a small town near the Dubuque area with her husband, Tim and two young children, Ella and Clark. Her two rescued pets include a white German Shepherd named Apollo and a Goldendoodle named Shire.
She is excited about practicing in the Galena area and getting to know the clients and their pets. She enjoys helping people build life long human-animal bonds with their pets through personalized, individual care.
